I produced a video for Netflix and Gensler documenting the renovation of the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, the site of the very first Hollywood premiere (Robin Hood, 1922). Once a landmark of movie palaces and cultural gatherings, the theatre was recently restored by Gensler and Netflix to honor its ornate Egyptian Revival details while modernizing the visitor experience. My role was to craft a compelling narrative that blended the theatre’s storied past with the design team’s vision, combining B-roll of the restored interiors and exteriors, motion graphics, and an interview with Gensler’s Design Director on the project. The result is a short promotional video that celebrates both the preservation of cinematic heritage and the architectural craft that brought new life to one of Hollywood’s most iconic venues.
